We totally understand our responsibility to provide the correct product to the crew. Moreover, we know that every product is important, and they will not have the opportunity to replace it until the next supply. For that reason, we are trying to inform you of the singularities that you may face on the Brazilian coasts. 
Every product matters!

 

Fresh fruits and vegetables are key products for all the crews. It is important to ensure the maximum possible life of these sensitive products. For that reason, these are the last items that we are collecting the day before the supply to ensure the longest shelf life. If some items are not in good condition on the delivery date, we will exclude them and we need your understanding on that.

 

 

  

 

Beef, Pork, and Chicken cuts are in closed sealed carton boxes with an average weight between 15 – 25 kg. In the quotation stage, we cannot be more specific as we don't have more details from wholesalers. After your order, we will provide a proforma delivery note calculating the packages with an estimated weight of 20 kg. The actual weight will be mentioned only in the final delivery notes. We always try from our side to be as much closer to the ordered quantity.

 

 

 

Regarding fish, it is good to know that Brazil has very good local products. We always try to provide the requested products and if the same is not available we suggest you the local similar. However, we have noticed that a lot of times due to shortage on the initial request, we have last-moment to cover the shortage with similar products. We advise your c/c for the same giving him the opportunity to accept or not the products.

 

 

 

 

Dairy products (Milk, Yogurt, Cheese, Butter, etc), Eggs, and Bread have a shelf life from 20 up to 50 days. From our side, we always try to have all the products in at least 30 days, but it is subject to market availability.

 

 

 

Bonded Stores

The bonded stores for the crew like chips, chocolates, soft drinks, etc in most cases are in small quantities and there are many different codes of brands and flavors. We must collect them from the local market and not from the wholesalers. For that reason, the shelf life of these products is a bit shorter and more specific from 25 up to 60 days. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cabin Stores

 

 

Another important department from every month's needs of the crew is the Cabin stores. We have a big variety of products like Cleaning products, Consumables, and tools. 

 

 

 

 

Water in Drums of 20 LTR

 

 

Hereby we would like to inform you regarding the procedure concerning the water in drums of 20 LTRS.

In Brazil there are two commercial options concerning the offering and supply of water in drums:

 

 


1st Option: The vsl will receive drums with water and they will return the previous empty drums.

When we receive the empty drums, we state on the delivery note how many empty drums have been received from the vsl but we are not responsible to check for their condition. The company that is responsible for refilling the drums will check them after our delivery and they will confirm if they accept them or not. We propose, to advise your clients that in the following cases the drums will not be accepted.

  • The drums must be in good condition and have been used exclusively for their intended use. Broken or cracked drums will be rejected.
  • Each drum has a shelf life and its expiration date mentioned on it. They will not accept expired drums with a shelf life of less than 15 days.
  • Drums must be from the same Brand and exclusively from Brazil. To avoid this issue, it is suggested to request two sample photos of the available drums on board showing the brand and the whole product.

2nd Option: The vsl will receive drums with water and they will not return the previous empty drums.

If the vsl doesn’t have empty drums to return or the returned drums are not suitable as per the above restrictions, we must charge also the drums. During our offers, we always mention 2 prices. The first price (the lower one) concerns the delivery of the drum with water and the collection of an empty drum in good condition. The second price (the higher one) concerns the delivery of the water with a drum without the collection of an empty or suitable drum.

Our company is not a refill company, and we are responsible only for the logistics part concerning the delivery of the drums on board, collecting and delivering back the empty ones. All the refill companies are specialized for the provided service and comply with all relevant liabilities as defined by Brazilian law.
